Regulation on Misfueling Controls for E15 Blends Expected Soon

The Environmental Protection Agency is finalizing a regulation that will outline a new label at gas pumps where E15 is sold in attempt to prevent misfueling by cars and small engines that are incompatible with ethanol blends higher than 10 percent. NMMA has long contended that the rule, which has been in the works since last year, is not enough to address public confusion and protect consumers from engine performance failures, emissions control failures and safety issues that could result from misfueling. The risk of misfueling is especially high for boaters since 95 percent of recreational boats are less than 26 feet in length, making them towable and fuelable at regular automotive gas stations. Buddy Davis sportfishing boat designer remembered

Carson R. "Buddy" Davis Jr., who designed and built Carolina-style sportfishing boats from 28 to 78 feet, died Monday at his home in Marathon, Fla., after a lengthy illness, his wife, Barbara, said. He was 62.

In ‘2006 my best friend Ron purchased a Symbol Pilothouse Yacht and gave it the name Imagine. I didn’t realize at the time what dimension that such a purchase would give his or really both of our lives at the time. Ron described the boat to me first over the telephone and I became increasingly anxious to see and to feel its ride. I went down to Miami and the first time that I see my eyes on it I was overwhelmed. The sheer size of the boat 69 foot was impressive but the interior with the cherry wood throughout , soft cushioned leather upholstered chairs and incredible navigation equipment on the bridge, I really was not prepared or I did not know that a private yacht could be like that, or that magnificent.
