Default New Listing: Fiberglass 47 ft. Chris Craft Commander 47 Flush Deck Motor Yacht - Portland Yacht Sales - Global Brokers - - 1-877-812-6220

A new for sale has been posted:

When she was introduced back in 1966, the 47 Flush Deck was the largest yacht in Chris Craft\'s rapidly evolving all-fiberglass fleet. (Indeed, only the Hatteras 50 Motor Yacht exceeded her in size among all-fiberglass designs of her era.) All of the deck hardware was custom-crafted at the old Chris Craft plant in Algonac, Michigan. A comfortable cruising yacht with a three stateroom interior. The fiberglass Commanders were originally launched to replace the wood Constellations and went on to become one of the most successful powerboat lines in history. The 47\' Commander was a big yacht in the day and for a time was the flagship of the Chris-Craft fleet. The Commanders were instant classics and are still much sought after today today--the heavily built hull is overkill by today’s standards (and the stable ride that 36,000 lbs provides is much appreciated in typical Bay conditions!

This particular example is one of the finest examples of a big Commander we\'ve seen in years and should be considered a must see for anyone in the market for a classic liveaboard or affordable cruiser. She\'s a three stateroom galley down model. Also twin bulletproof Detroit Diesel 8V-53s rebuilt in 1989. Last bottom paint in 2002.
