Propulsion

The Detroit 6-71TI's have been maintained by a very knowledgeable owner and maintenence records are available.
Engines
Twin Detroit/Allison/General Motors 6-71 in-line Covington modified, turbo inner-cooled engines. Note,
Covington remains in business in several cities in North Carolina and is a source of information and parts.
Detroit “factory service” businesses populate the US
The port engine was rebuilt in 2006. The starboard engine was rebuilt in or around 2003 (by a previous
owner)
The starboard engine’s injectors were serviced, adjusted, etc. in November 2009 (as in “run the overhead”)
and the heat exchange aspect of the starboard after-cooler was replaced as were all related gaskets
and the port turbo charger was serviced at that time
Port and starboard turbo-mounted baffle/mufflers were replaced in 2007 with stainless steel devices
produced by the original equipment manufacturer under special purchase order of the boat owner
Walker AirSeps are in place on each engine - new cone filters were installed October 2009
Raycors - On each of the fuel supply lines to each propulsion engine and the genset - Filters were replaced
in October 2009
Secondary (engine mounted) fuel filters were replaced in October 2009
All rubber hoses and hose clamps were replaced in October 2004
Four new 8D starter batteries installed November 2008
“Crossover” parallel, battery switches facilitate starting if one battery bank fails
Engine temperature and oil pressure alarms

Maintenence

ReversCo oil change system - propulsion engines & genset - oil and filters have been regularly changed at 100 hour
intervals
Detailed maintenance records from October 2004 and partial records from prior years are on board - the ownership
record reports ownership back to date of manufacture.
The steerage linkages and related support structures were improved in 2007 by rebuilding the support structures and
re-working the assemblies to overcome apparent original design deficiencies

Personal Belongings

The oriental rugs, custom teak cabinet shown in the photographs are not included with the sale of "Diversion" but are subject to negotiation. The small framed pictures and framed blazer patches are personal items and will not convey.

Marquipt Boarding Ladder - To facilitate access while cruising, a Marquipt floating-dock boarding ladder with
wheels and hand railing are stowed on the port side safety railing.
Ground tackle
Fortress (tm) 55 FX (oversized) anchor attached to ten feet of 7/16" stainless steel chain followed by twenty feet of
3/8" galvanized chain and thereafter 300 feet of 5/8" nylon anchor rode are stowed in the rode locker - accessible
through the forward shower stall
A DC powered Ideal Windless facilitates deploying and retrieving the ground tackle. Foot-pedal/switches are
accessible at the bow on the bow pulpit to operate the windlass. Fuses and switches were replaced in August 2009
Fenders
Six fenders help protect the hull from contact with piers
