Description: The Engine Control Module regulates the HPDI System, to ensure superior power, fuel economy and reliability. Here's how HPDI works. Six sophisticated sensors help the microcomputer optimize ignition timing and air/fuel mixture. Fuel is drawn through the fuel pump and vapor separator, then pressurized by the twin high-speed fuel pumps – to 1,000psi in our next-generation 3.3L HPDI and 700psi for the 2.6L HPDI. Proven and reliable internal-opening fuel injectors distribute the fuel to each individual cylinder enhancing fuel distribution for maximum power and greater fuel economy.

Both the 3.3L and the 2.6L HPDI feature the 76° V-block design which is compact and provides added torque for greater acceleration.

Special Heat Treated Crankshaft, Connecting Rods and Gears enhance durability for long term engine life.
New, Special Ion-Plated Top Piston Ring enhances durability. The oil bypass groove on the bottom piston ring delivers the precise amount of oil to the top ring and upper cylinder wall for even greater reliability.
Fuel is routed through a an engine-mounted water-separating fuel filter, a vapor separator tank, twin high-speed fuel pumps and fuel rails, then delivered through 6 individual internal opening fuel injectors.

Water Inlets have been front-mounted and lowered on the V MAX® 200, 225, 250hp models for cooling efficiency and optimal set up. V MAX 300 models also have side-mounted water inlets to further enhance cooling efficiency and provide increased reliability.
Water Cooled Intake Crankcase This unique feature increases intake air density for added horsepower on the VZ300.
Twin High Speed Fuel Pumps pressurize fuel at 1000psi for outstanding performance and fuel economy on 3.3 Liter HPDI models. 2.6 Liter models pressurize fuel at 700psi using a single high-speed fuel pump.
The Vapor Separator removes vapors from the fuel for increased engine stability and reliability.
The unique, Concave-Shaped Skeg Design on the V MAX® 3.3L models dramatically reduces steering torque, enabling the lower unit to track straight during acceleration, when on plane and deceleration. This new lower unit was engineered to maximize performance on today's bass boat hull designs.

Strong, Forged Pistons add durability. Aluminum alloys are compressed in molds under extreme pressure, resulting in a much stronger piston.
The High Output Alternator, standard on HPDI 3.3-liter models delivers an incredible 37 amps of charging power at 1,000 rpm and a full 50 amps at speed. You’ll have plenty of charging power, even after prolonged idling or using multiple electronics while trolling at low rpm’s. The 2.6-liter models feature a full 45 amps of charging power at speed, with high-amp charging at low speed, too!

Yamaha Analog Gauges - A complete array of Yamaha Pro Series II ™ Analog Instrumentation is available to keep you continually informed. Highly accurate and easily readable, they’re available in black or white face, complimenting today's popular bass boats.

Yamaha's ACP-221 Paint Process provides a 5-layer barrier against corrosion.
Our exclusive YDC-30 Alloy is the most corrosion-resistant base material in the industry.
Stainless Steel is used for the drive shaft, the shift shaft, the prop shaft, and the steering tube for maximum corrosion resistance and long-term reliability.
Front-Mounted Freshwater Flushing device makes it easy to completely flush the engine, in the slip or on the trailer, and without running the engine.
Six Individual Fuel Injectors open internally, enhancing fuel distribution and reducing the chance of carbon build-up.
The Proven Homogeneous Combustion Chamber Design maximizes power and fuel economy in the critical 2500-5500 rpm range.
The Available VX-MAX® Prop was designed to maximize performance on the muscular 300/250/225/200hp V MAX® HPDIs.

Yamaha HPDIs meet the Federal EPA emission requirements, and have earned a California C.A.R.B two-star rating for very low emissions.
