Travelers’ Boat and Yacht Claims Leadership has been working diligently on an organizational restructure to better align our claims initiatives with the needs of our agents and customers. In looking to the future, we have identified five unique and exciting opportunities for which we are looking for talented individuals to fill. These positions will be instrumental in helping ensure we are positioned to deliver the world-class claims service that our customers and agents have come to expect.
Boat/Yacht Claims Leader: An excellent career opportunity for a high energy claims leader. This position would report directly to the Boat/Yacht Claims Line Lead and be responsible for the “day to day” operation of the claims department. This position would be accountable for driving claims performance, measuring, managing and reporting work product quality and supporting the Line Lead in developing and implementing strategic and tactical initiatives. This position requires an intimate understanding of the claims business as well as the boating and yachting industry as a whole. This position would work closely with our sales and underwriting partners to ensure calibration within the individual business units. Prior claims experience including management experience is a must. Passion for boating is a plus. Excellent salary and benefits package. This position will be located within Hartford, Connecticut.
Boat/Yacht Casualty/Liability Claims Professional: An excellent career opportunity for a high energy claims professional. This position would help manage moderate to complex liability claims, up to and including litigation management. Job requirements include 3-6 years of progressive liability experience in handling bodily injury claims. Maritime experience and a passion for boating is a plus. Excellent salary and benefits package. Preferred location for this position is Hartford, Connecticut.
Boat/Yacht Salvage, Transportation and Disposition Specialist: An excellent career opportunity for a high energy claims professional. This position will be responsible for managing the recovery, transportation, mitigation and disposition of boat and yacht salvage while focusing on maximizing returns and minimizing expenses. This position will be instrumental in developing and executing the strategic and tactical initiatives relative to asset management while forging a close alliance with our industry partners. This position requires a motivated, innovative self starter that is not afraid to challenge the industry norms. Job requirements include 2-3 of claims experience and experience in the management of boat and yacht salvage. Excellent salary and benefits package. This position will be located within Hartford, Connecticut.
Boat/Yacht Staff Surveyor: An excellent career opportunity for a high-energy claims professional or independent boat/yacht surveyor looking for a new opportunity. This position requires an intimate technical knowledge of boat and yacht construction and a working knowledge of the claims handling process. Marine Surveyor certification such as Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS®) or National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS) is a plus. Additional accreditations in fiberglass, diesel, outboard and outdrive repairs also a plus. This position will play an active role in helping define and implement strategies, workflows and best practices in the handling of boat and yacht claims. Excellent salary and benefits package. This position will be located within the Annapolis, Maryland area.
