Selling 50% interest in Houseboat for $39,900.
The boat is a 1992 56 ft. Funcountry Marine aluminum hull houseboat, berthed at Steamboat Resort pictured below, a private club and definitely one of the nicest locations on the delta. Steamboat is an hour drive from much of the Bay Area and 20 miles south of Sacramento between Walnut Grove and Courtland on historic and scenic Steamboat Slough. The boat is kept side-tied at the dock as shown in the picture below, which is a nice private resort with a pool table, shuffleboard, laundry. A ski boat can be side-tied to the houseboat as the picture shows. There are four double beds and two bathrooms. Amenities include a large screen HDTV with 300 channels of Dish NW programming, Air Conditioning, highspeed wireless internet connection, 5.1 Surround Sound, upper deck stereo, microwave, waterslide, entertainment PC, and Gas Barbecue. The boat is also setup to support "working from home" with a WiFi access point alongside the boat in a dockbox. Everything is ready for turnkey operation and better equipped than boats renting for 3,500 per week. A second boat can be side tied alongside the houseboat.
The partnership is essentially a 3 weeks on then 3 weeks off arrangement. Dockage and expenses average $300 per month per partner.
Compared to houseboats at Oroville, Shasta, Lake Don Pedro and elsewhere the price is better, the location far easier for most people to get to, and the local waterways great for water sports. While the boat can be navigated around the delta we often arrive and simply relax using it as a luxury river house as the boat is a very comfortable destination. Kayaking, fishing, reading, and swimming means you don't need to burn a drop of fuel to have a great time.
A recent survey was completed available indicating a replacement cost of $190,000 and a fair market value of $78,000. We have subsequently spent an additional $7,500 on HDTV, satellite system, upgraded computer, services, and repairs.
The bonus here is the location which may well be the single best houseboat berth close to the Bay Area and you won't pay a $25-50K premium for it as you would at Lake Shasta and most other lakes. Definitely beats burning a bunch of fuel and having to drive for hours to a remote location.
Call if this sounds of interest.
