Travelers’ Boat and Yacht Claims Leadership has been working diligently on an organizational restructure to better align our claims initiatives with the needs of our agents and customers. In doing so, we have identified an exciting opportunity for which we are looking for talented individuals. These positions will be instrumental in helping ensure we are positioned to deliver the world-class claims service that our customers and agents have come to expect.


Boat/Yacht Claims Leader: An excellent career opportunity for a “high energy” claims leader. This position would report directly to the Boat/Yacht Claim VP. This position would oversee a group of highly motivated claims professionals in the handling of 3rd party liability, bodily injury, fire and theft claims. This position requires a technical understanding of the boating and yachting industry and an intimate understanding of claim file management, application of liability and bodily injury assessment. Prior claims experience, including management experience, is a must. Maritime law experience is preferred and a passion for boating is a plus. This position will play an active role in helping define and implement strategies, workflows and best practices in the handling of boat and yacht claims. Excellent salary and benefits package. This position will be located within Hartford, Connecticut.

Boat/Yacht Claims Professional: This position requires an intimate technical knowledge of boat and yacht construction and a working knowledge of the claim handling process. Marine Surveyor certification such as Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS®) or National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS) is a plus. Additional accreditations in fiberglass, diesel, outboard and out drive repairs also a plus. This position also requires the ability to provide world class customer service to our valued agents and customers. Prior insurance claims experience is preferred. A strong working knowledge of computers and skills associated with same including Microsoft office, internet, etc is necessary. This position will play an active role in helping define and implement strategies, workflows and best practices in the handling of boat and yacht claims. Excellent salary and benefits package. This position will be located within Hartford, Connecticut.

Boat/Yacht Staff Surveyor: An excellent career opportunity for a high-energy claims professional or independent boat/yacht surveyor looking for a new challenge. This position requires an intimate technical knowledge of boat and yacht construction and a working knowledge of the claims handling process. Marine Surveyor certification such as Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS®) or National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS) is a plus. Additional accreditations in electrical, corrosion, fiberglass, diesel, outboard and outdrive repairs also a plus. This position will play an active role in helping define and implement strategies, workflows and best practices in the handling of boat and yacht claims. Excellent salary and benefits package. This position will be located within the Northeastern United States, preferably the Boston area. This is a field position and extensive travel in the Northeast will be necessary.
