Alumacraft Boat Co., a leader in the Recreation Marine Industry since 1946, has an immediate opening for a Director of Engineering.

General Responsibilities:
This key management level position will oversee all Engineering & Prototype functions, including but not limited to, the development of new products, improvements in manufacturing design, performance and safety testing of aluminum boats.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the balance between technical aspects of engineering design and the practical application of boat design in a dynamic production environment. Key competencies that will lead the candidate to success on our team include:
• Alumacraft uses a Team-Project Environment, and excellent project management skills must be balanced with strong interpersonal and communication skills to bring the ideas of Sales, Manufacturing and others to a successful implementation.
• Personnel Management (staffing, performance evaluations and training)
• Systems design and engineering (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
• Structural design (structural layout)
• Excellent written and organizational skills (documentation and control)

• Possess an Engineering degree or have a minimum of 10 years of practical experience in aluminum boat building and prototyping
• Demonstrate Proficiency in AutoCad Pro E or other similar product
• Demonstrate Solid skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, e-mail, etc.)

We are searching for someone who is as passionate about recreational boating and fishing as they are about engineering design and development, someone who recognizes the requirement of a manufacturing environment on a boat’s engineering and design and demonstrates a team building, attitude.
