“The 5800 Sovran™ is the most elegant yacht Tiara Yachts has ever launched,” comments Nick Bischoff, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With its abundance of light, thoughtfully integrated ‘sky galley’ and application of Volvo Penta IPS® technology, the 5800 Sovran also sets a new standard for performance and livability in a 58-foot cruising yacht.”
The new Tiara 5800 Sovran features a light and lively upper level salon and helm area, with free-flowing space from helm to transom. Full-width, full-height curved glass sliding entrance/egress doors aft, large side windows, huge windshield and retractable 6-foot sunroof combine to bathe the helm and salon in natural light. Attractive blinds and curtains and a 36,000 BTU air conditioning system provide privacy and comfort for the salon/helm area when desired.
Salon includes comfortable L-shaped sofa and club chairs with handy drawer refrigerator and beverage cooler for entertaining, and incorporates the aft deck when glass doors are opened. Between the salon and helm is an LCD HD TV, mounted on a hi-lo actuator for easy concealment when not in use. The 5800 Sovran helm features fully adjustable pedestal-type captain and mate seats with full instrumentation, including a proprietary touch-screen interface that operates virtually all onboard electronic functions and 12 volt systems. The Volvo IPS Joystick is also close at hand, to provide unmatched docking maneuverability.
“The Volvo Penta IPS technology has been universally accepted by Sovran owners,” notes Rick Eggerding, Director of Product Development and Engineering. “The 5800 Sovran is engineered around three Volvo Penta 600 diesel engines, mounted side-by-side-by-side with easy access for maintenance and servicing. The space gained allows for abundant storage or a crew quarters for our European customers. The advanced propulsion system provides the 5800 Sovran with better fuel efficiency, a smoother ride and less exhaust — resulting in longer range and greater cruising enjoyment.”
Cruisers will also enjoy the distinctive sky galley of the 5800 Sovran. Nestled between the salon level and the lower staterooms and dinette, the well-appointed sky galley is equipped with premium features, such as drawer refrigerator-freezer, dishwasher, three-burner ceramic cooktop and dual sinks. Its distinctive location — three steps up from the lower level and five down from the salon — keeps the galley bathed in natural light from the forward windshield and even accommodates a walk-in cellar pantry beneath the galley floor.
Light cascades below deck to the central dinette/lounge area. Another option is to use this space for a third stateroom. The full-beam master stateroom features large hullside windows and a skylight for abundant natural light. Both staterooms feature televisions, air conditioning vents and private entry to heads with stall showers. And both extend the teak interior group and solid teak hardwood sole that provide elegant warmth throughout the vessel.
